Polish tennis star Iga Swiatek cemented her claim to the world No. 1 ranking with a straight sets win over Naomi Osaka in the Miami Open women's singles finals

She is the fourth woman ever to win the Sunshine Double, the first to beat Osaka in a final since Victoria Azarenka in 2016

She will be the first Polish player to reach the top ranking in singles tennis

Iga Swiatek has skyrocketed to the top of women's tennis with her recent play.

The Polish star defeated Naomi Osaka 6-4, 6-0 to take home the Miami Open championship.

"This tournament has so much energy," Swiatek said.

She's the fourth woman to do so, joining Victoria Azarenka (2016), Kim Clijsters (2005) and Steffi Graf (1994 and 1996) to win both Indian Wells and Miami.

Iga Swiatek will replace the now-retired Ashleigh Barty at No. 1 in the women's rankings officially when the points are updated Monday.

Swiatek would still be No. 2 in the rankings if Barty hadn't retired or hadn't asked to be removed from the list.
