Mother's Day was first celebrated in the United States in 1908. 

The day was created by Anna Jarvis as a way to honor her own mother. 

Anna Jarvis first handed out white carnations to mothers in a church service. The carnation has since become the official Mother's Day flower. 

In 1914, President Woodrow Wilson signed a law making Mother's Day an official holiday.

Mother's Day is now celebrated in many countries around the world, on different days throughout the year. 

In the United States, Mother's Day is always celebrated on the second Sunday in May. 

Mother's Day is the busiest day of the year for restaurants.

More phone calls are made on Mother's Day than any other day of the year.

Mother's Day is the most popular day for sending cards.

Mother's Day is a special day to celebrate the mothers in our lives!
